Within its role of IT technical partner in defining solutions for zero-defect manufacturing in optoelectronics field in the iQonic project, Holonix has recently published the web article titled “Deploy and running of iQonic KBS supporting the use cases”. It describes the release and current use of the KBS software prototype solution developed by Holonix in the context of the project WP2, T4.5, and T6.4 for cloud data gathering and management enabling diagnostics and prognostics action oriented to Zero Defect Manufacturing and Quality management in optoelectronics applications.

In the article, the tool and its application in PRIMA use case are presented.

One cornerstone of the iQonic system is the achievement of interoperability for sensors and legacy system-related data, enabling the information flow the field to the cloud modules in charge of intelligent prognostic and diagnostic actions. According to iQonic Overall Architecture, KBS represents the main submodule directly acting for managing information flow, data schema, and metadata. It consists of many modules managing in particular data structure and metadata/semantics definition with specific Registry application, real-time data streaming with a custom use of Kafka technology, data persistency/retrieval with a specific big-data db exposing REST interface.+
